We’re bringing back cocktail hour. Like every day.

I know some people might be opposed to that, but hear me out.

I’m not talking go out, get a hundred half priced drinks type cocktail hour. I’m talking just a drink or two at home with whoever is there to have one with you.

Grab a glass of wine while you’re cooking dinner, shake up a martini while you’re waiting for dinner or even just a beer and take out.

The point is getting together at the end of the day and having some time to hang out, and for me that’s with going to be with drink in hand.

Christie and I try and do this as much as we can, even with crazy schedules and sports and work…even when we’ve been together for the whole day. Still, it’s different to sit down and talk about different things or sometimes even talk about nothing.

This Blood Orange Rosemary Gin Martini is so light and refreshing, I’d say it’s good for cocktail hour or even brunch. I’m not a huge mimosa fan and neither is Christie. Well, for her it would be a mimosa but hold the OJ.

We definitely like our blood oranges here, we’ve made this Blood Orange Gin Cooler and tequila based Blood Orange Mimosa. Both delicious. I can usually find blood oranges at my grocery store or at Trader Joe’s, so when I’m there I grab a couple of bags.

The great thing about recipes like this is that you can make up a whole batch ahead of time and just shake them up as you need them, so perfect for parties and holidays!

And if your holidays are anything like ours…you’ll be having lots of cocktails!
